Create New Value for Tomorrow

Daikin Texas Technology Park Solar Initiative

Friday, October 11, 2024

This summer Daikin will begin installation of an approximately 1 megawatt solar power plan on 4 acres at the Daikin Texas Technology Park Campus outside of Waller, Texas!

We’ve got big goals!

The new solar power plant project aligns with Daikin’s 2050 Environmental Vision to achieve NetZero Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Daikin Texas Technology Park’s NetZero 2030 CO2 goal. We are reducing our carbon emissions, promoting energy efficiency with our products, aiming to mitigate our environmental impact, and striving to be leaders in sustainability.

2030 NetZero CO2 Goal

In 2023, Daikin Texas Technology Park accepted a goal to be a NetZero CO2 emission factory by 2030 through:

  • Energy conservation
  • Renewable energy purchase or production

The solar panels will power our central chiller plant which provides the majority of the comfort cooling and heating for Manufacturing, Logistics and the Engineering Labs. The chilled water loop circulates approximately 125,000 gallons of water during the year and 75,000 gallons through the hot water loop in the wintertime.
